There are two themes planned as of now, (1) Bharat Bhraman, and (2) World Wide Web.
1. Bharat Bhraman is a series of solo cycling expeditions, covering (almost) entire India (in parts), and totaling a distance ranging from 1000 - 10000 ++ kms to be completed in few straight days. Quite a few journeys of 1500, 3000, and 3500 kms have already been done, and lot more yet to come. (check the Event Section for details). 2. And, World Wide Web is the same expanded beyond the borders, reaching out to the globe. (3 successful seasons for TOUR-OF-MALAYSIA already completed. Some other plans commencing soon). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Putting things in simple mathematical derivations, 150-200, even 200++ Kms/day for some straight days. All alone. Further derivations say, average 20 Kms/hr for minimum 10 hrs per day. But on the self-supported road reality (spine-chilling elevation, off-road rides, traffic, essential refreshment breaks, meeting people, loving-respecting-acknowledging nature's beauty, etc... will make the journey-time per day to be nearly 13-15 hours. That leaves one with hardly 8 odd hours off for all other necessary needs, meeting people and includes resting as well, to make it to the targeted schedule of each day; and that too for some continuous days/weeks. |
It’s a really tough to even think about it, and making it real All Alone, is a real herculean task. But, “Something becomes impossible, only after it’s tried and failed; else it’s always possible”.
The series of journey has been planned looking into all practically possible angles, though it takes a real serious effort to make them practically possible. The planned routes pass through many states, districts, cities, metropolitan areas, National Highways, State Highways, and totaling up-to 5,000-10,000 meters of bone-breaking elevation gains, with an equally deadly and dangerous downhill sections. |
It’s never a one-fine day story, but a long 10 years of preparation, attempts, failures, success, love, criticism and "willingness to do something interesting", what has made me believe that “I can do it”. 10 years of dedicated commitment, months of sleepless dreaming and planning is the story behind “Ride-4-Pride”.
Each single day/moment in these years, I had only one target to see/know whether it’s possible or not; and now, I have the answer with me. At present situation, I have only two targets; one is to cross the decided/respective finish_lines with pride, and also living each of the journey with grace. Apart from preparing for next/bigger targets; I also try to work a bit towards promoting the success story of these events to make people/youth/kids believe in hard-work and dedication to reach at any goal. |
