Solo cycling expedition, covering the Length of INDIA (Kanyakumari to Kashmir || K2K), totaling a sum of massive 3,520 Kms, completed in 23 days. Apart from everything else, Highlight point of this journey was the burning heat of INDIAN Summer; since it took place in the Months on May-June, 2016. Though the plan was for a double_K2K, going and return back; due to climatic challenges and related health-issue it got shorten to only one-way; and 320 Km less of Ladakh.
You showered me with lots of love, & supported my last 1,500 Kms journey, for which I am deeply thankful. As expected, you showered even more support & encouragement for this K2K journey as well. Double_K2K:: was a plan for straight journey from the Kanyakumari to Kashmir, & a return on same route, for LIMCA Book of Records. It couldn't happen as planned. There is always a Next time!!
The planned journey got a flag-off from the South-most corner of INDIA, i.e. Kanyakumari on 23rd of May, 2016; and headed straight north-ward. Crossing entire-length of Tamilnadu with initial health set-back (due to exposure to extreme heat on National Highways), reached IT-hub of India (my second Home) Bangalore on 26th May. The journey continued through Andhra & Telengana, to reach another IT-hub of India, Hyderabad on 30th of May. Then, progressed through Nagpur, Gwalior, & Agra to reach the Heart (Dil) of India, 'Dilli' on 8th June. Then had the privilege to make the journey through the most talented states of India (athletics), Punjab, & Haryana. Then crossed the most beautiful part of the world (not Only India), known as Himachal-Pradesh. The journey couldn't see its most-awaited part, i.e. Jammu-&-Kashmir, as due to health-complications, I stopped 320Km short of J&K making it a total of 3,520Kms in 23 days of cycling & 4 days of rest (at the end) before returning back by other means of transport.
This journey of 150++ Kms/day for 23 straight days passed through 13 states, 52 districts, 54 cities, some of the NHs, few State-highways, and totaling up-to 20,000 meters of bone-breaking elevation gain, with apprx. 13,000 meters of tricky downhill sections. The toughness of the task was made easy with your loads of love, and encouragement.
