After exploring most parts of INDIA, now its time to witness the marvelous natural beauty in Malaysia. Presenting OPEM Cycling Campaign, a Polio awareness campaign event of 2,200km to cover the entire of Malaysia in 15 days i.e. Operation Polio Eradication by Manipal Cycling Campaign. This got started from Manipal International University Campus at Nilai, and travelled to GNU at Kuala lumpur, before heading to North corner at Perlis, then went to the North-Eastern side at Kelantan, and then dropped down all the way to Johor Bahru, to finally return back to Nilai after visiting Melacca Manipal Medical College at both Muar and Melacca. This solo expedition was flagged off on 30-Jan-2018, and touched the finishing lines on 14-Feb-2018.
Manipal International University, and Rotary club joined hands to be supportive towards this activity. Attempt was also to connect Manipal Group Educational campuses in Nilai, Melaka, Muar, and Klang through this cycling expedition. The aim was to promote the MIU's Green-Health awareness agenda, i.e. eco-friendly and healthy way of transport using cycling as a mode for daily purposes. The main agenda was of Polio eradication awareness campaign to support Rotary's mission for years, at multiples cities as a part of this event, with support of various bodies. A total of RM 12,000 (equivalent to USD 3,000 or INR 2,00,000) was raised during this campaign, and that will be contributed to Rotary International for its global ENDPOLIO mission. Your continuous love and encouragement made this attempt a successful one, very similar to ALL other previous attempts back in INDIA and in Malaysia.
