As a part of BHARAT-BHRAMAN theme, I completed quite a few major solo cycling expeditions in INDIA in the recent years. 1. Kanyakumari to Kashmir 3,500 km in 23 days; 2. Manipal to Jaipur 2,500 km in 20 days; 3. Bangalore to Odisha 1,500 km in 8 days. . . . To do something bigger-better-more unique, one has to go through hardship.. But your constant love, support and encouragement made the path easier !!
Craziness and Uniqueness is what defines me. When normal people draw their limit, my planning starts from there.
Presenting; Okha (Gujarat) to Dibrugarh (Assam) 3,500 km DUSK-to-DAWN (D2D) Solo cycling expedition, covering the entire Width of India, completed in 15days.
Apart from everything else, torturous point of this journey was the infamous heat of Summer in INDIA; since it was executed in the Month on May, 2017. As said earlier, where most others like to find comfort, I prefer pain; as the taste of success after lot of pain is very beautiful.
You have been regularly showering-supporting me with lots of love, & encouragement throughout my previous journeys, for which I am deeply thankful. Its a clear expectation that you will encourage me even more in time to come as well. This time, I wasn't attempting for any Records (since, that's a very complicated process; and being solo with no physical/manual support team, it becomes highly challenging).
As per Plan it started from Okha (Gujarat) i.e. the Western-most corner of India, on 15th of May, 2017; and headed straight East-ward. Crossing entire-width of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, I entered Uttar Pradesh, and further travelled through Bihar. Next was West Bengal, and then went parallel with Bangladesh border (hardly 1-2 km from the road) to finish in Assam (just before Arunachal Pradesh Border). I din't try to go the East-Most corner of India in Arunchal, as it is infamous for having Maoist activities and unsuitable road-climatic conditions. The journey ended at Dibrugarh on 29th May-2017. The journey was about 200-250-300 Kms/day for 15 straight days; all these sounds interesting on paper, but only I know what all I have faced. This journey passed through 6 states, 49 districts, 33 major cities, some of the NHs, few State-highways.
